First time here and I really enjoyed it. The Chicken Pad Thai was excellent. The Thai Tea was yummy. The restaurant has a full bar and was very clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend it and I will go back.

My first experience here was in last year in May of 2014 it was a good experience and the food was good. But this time which was 2 weeks ago in August was not very good at all. Although the wait staff was polite and catered to our table often, the beef pad Thai and three out of four meals at our table were not very good. The beef was dry and hard to swallow. I had almost choked on the beef and had to chase it down with my drink. The tofu pad pak that one of us got lacked flavor. However, The appetizers were the best part out of everything and was actually very good. They do make sure the plates of food are well presented and very pretty looking with a carrot carved flower garnish. I would like to see 80 dollars worth of food be just as tasty as they are pretty. But that was just not the case here. My family and I are pretty disappointed.

Had a chance to take my lovely wife out for a date and had been wanting to try this place out and I love it. Sunday evening and was not busy at all. Really nice atmosphere and the service was the best. Started off with the Satay and was very tasty, but before I go any further I would like to say that they brought us water without asking or anything. This is a major plus to me. I had the Garlic Beef and my wife had started out with the Pad Thai Shrimp. We later added the Spicy Chicken Fried Rice as well. Way too much for two but was looking at leftover for tomorrow. Food was very good and please make sure to check out the specials when you come already planning our menu for the next visit.

Came here for Valentines Day and was pretty impressed. The place looks a lot nicer inside than you'd think from the outside, very elegant. We were able to be seated right away even though they looked pretty busy, but by the time we left there was a wait. Our server was friendly but she had a lot of tables and seemed rushed. A couple times we needed new drinks and she was nowhere to be seen. Food didn't take too long to come out and was presented very well. The portions are huge and reasonably priced. I got the chicken pad Thai. I thought it was pretty good but maybe a little too much peanut. We will definitely be back to this place!

This restaurant was alright. Food was not amongst best at all. Seemed fresh and had flavor. First time I was not asked for spice level. Had red curry shrimp. Curry came out like soup. I had to fish for the ingredients. Maybe that is the intend. If so a first for me. Had to ask for a plate. Shrimp had tail on. So after fishing for them, had to cut off tail. All chefs do this and bothers me. Anyone else? I only need tail on for cocktail shrimp and dipping. The art of deserts have been lost. Offer is made very coldly and assuming I do not want. Poor salesmanship.

Delicious meal... Had Pad Thai, Tom Kha and garden roll.. All very good! Service was good as were prices and portions. We would definitely return.

A co-worker recommended Tida Thai to me and she said they had "the best drunken noodles" she's ever had. I'm not a fan of noodles (too carby) but I decided to give the restaurant a try. I'm glad I did. After trying several Thai restaurants in the area, this one had the best atmosphere and the tastiest food so far. I like their fried tofu appetizer and their chicken with eggplant. I love that I can request "brown rice" instead of "white". For desert, I always get the sticky rice with mango. This place is close to home for me, so I frequent it often.
(5)Aneri M.
Really good food and some really good vegetarian options!
(4)David W.
The best drunken noodles I've had on the East Coast. Thai joints on the West Coast can make them better, but these noodles here are excellent! Guaranteed to make your nose run. The noodles look and taste like they're made from scratch, which is why I gave them a 5 star rating. The atmosphere inside was relaxing and calming. I did not want to return to work! The staff is very friendly and attentive. They also have a full bar with a drink menu, but I wasn't able to partake because I was there on my lunch break.
(5)Justin L.
I'm not comparing this to NYC or Sydney, Australia (which has the best Thai food in the world, short of Thailand) but for the Williamsburg/Newport News area, this is definitely a 5-star thai restaurant. A really excellent find, considering the fact that this is not the culinary capital of America. Pretty authentic too. They have Som Tum (called Papaya Salad), Pad Kee Mao (called Drunken Noodles), and great rice paper rolls (Garden Roll). Service was kind and attentive. Pretty nice ambiance too. Worth the 30-min drive from Williamsburg.
(5)Theresa S.
The servic, food ,prices and atmosphere is always exceptional! The inly olace for Thai in Newport News!
(5)Saara Z.
Below average Thai food. My red curry with seafood was edible but not very good. The curry was watered down to make the portion size unnecessarily large. Could hardly taste the creamy coconutty flavor one would expect from a red curry. The seafood seemed to be good quality but the number of scallops and squid in the dish was laughable. Maybe one large scallop sliced in half? There were two jumbo shrimps in it though, which was redeeming. Some of the bamboo shoots in the dish were not chewable - almost like softened bark, which was pretty frustrating and uncomfortable to deal with at the table. Would not recommend Tida Thai.
(2)Kaysie B.
Agree with the other reviewers, this is definitely the best Thai food in the area. I paid $13 for chicken pad thai and the portion was huge - plenty for leftovers. The flavor was really good, noodles had the perfect amount of sauce, and the chicken looked like it was carved from a rotisserie breast. This will probably become my go-to Thai place. And, military discount Monday-Thursday!

One of my best friends just moved to Virginia Beach, so I wanted to meet her for a quick bite. We mapped what was halfway between VB and RVA, and we settled on Tida Thai. We ordered the exact same thing, pad see eew with pork, and we ordered a soda as well. The sodas come in this tall plastic glass, with a cute little straw wrapper rose stuck on the top of the straw. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure our sodas stayed filled the whole time. The pad see eew was good, but I wish it was a little sweeter, but that just might be my ridiculous sweet tooth. I'm never a fan of the carrots that some times come with pad see eew, and this time was no exception. If you're passing through, Tida Thai is a solid option, but I wouldn't detour for it.
(3)Jeff S.
Great food, friendly staff! We have been here several times and it has always been a fantastic experience, even our kids have started coming with us and enjoy the food.
(5)Michelle F.
This is my usual Thai spot for lunch when I'm working. The inside is kind of dark even though it's beautifully decorated, so I chose to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. There's only 3 tables outside but during lunch hour everyone is inside. They've changed servers a few times since I've been going here and they are all really great, fast and attentive. I usually get the Pad Thai with tofu or chicken ($9) at medium spice and request the Thai spice rack to bump it up of needed. I don't mind doing a little extra sprinkling to make up for the kitchen because everyone's palette is different. I usually like it muy caliente! This spot is great for lunch or dinner as well as groups. I've brought quite a few friends here when they are in town and they loved it. It's not really suited for kids though, so I'd leave them at home.
(4)Corinne B.
Great food. The pad thai is awesome. I won't give them 4 or 5 stars for two reasons: 1. Ordering a to go order is a production...make sure you give them plenty of time to get it together...I've had to wait quite a while both times I've called ahead...and both times, they have forgotten my Thai tea. 2. The wait staff always seems hurried and less than friendly... The food will impress, though...
(3)Eric B.
I paid $45 for spring rolls, fried rice, curry chicken, and 2 thai teas that they forgot when they delivered it to me. They did bring me the two teas and refund me for them but $45 for what I got was hardly worth the cost. I won't ever do that again.
(1)Marvin W.
Had dinner here. It was a really good meal. I had drunken noodles and my fiancée had a stir fry. Both dishes were great. The drunken noodles were a bit drier than at most Thai restaurants, meaning the noodles were not drenched in sauce here. I got it with tofu. The tofu was also much better than average: not too tough or chewy. The only issue we had was that we had to wait a long time for the food to come out. Not sure why, but they did look understaffed. We both agreed that the food was worth the wait. Would love to go back and probably will when we are driving by, it's right off the highway.

Review based on delivery: This place is hands down the best Asian delivery service in the area. Newport News has had a crazy mix of great places and absolutely horrible places and majority of these "great places" have dropped drastically in quality (Asian Grill, Wok n Roll). Delivery is pricey but it's totally worth it. The siracha chicken I got was spicy, attractive and one big thing that 99.99% of these places fail at: tenderness. Normally you get over fried clumps of chicken with chewy, stringy cartilage that is unsavory. The chicken is shaved and marinaded which is something most places around here forget to do. The satay was awesome and the peanut sauce was great. If you're looking for something Asian or Thai, this place is worth looking into.
(5)Natasha T.
Usually I'll order for delivery. Never been disappointed, my favorite thai place in the area by far. I usually don't like spicy foods but their masaman curry is soo good. Food is great quality and you can tell the vegetables are always fresh.
(5)Rose M.
Good delivery Thai food, but pricey. I got the Shrimp Pad Woon Sen and Shrimp Tom Ka Shrimp Pad Woon Sen (noodles) Great taste not spicy Shrimp was well cooked Small portion for the price I got a lot of long scallion that I would prefer them to be shorter Shrimp Tom Ka (soup) Delicious Shrimp was well cooked The Shrimp Pad Woon Sen and Shrimp Tom Ka in total cost $24. Minimum $20 for delivery. For only two items of food that were not entrees it was expensive meal.
(4)Jesse H.
Great Thai food, and priced very well. We use the delivery service frequently. Tom Kha is the best I have had by a large margin, and all of the dishes have been very tasty. Staff have always been helpful and friendly.
(4)Freddy S.
Not sure what everyone is raving about but this was place was not impressive to say the least. For starters there were only 2 servers on a Saturday night so I won't complain about the service. The food on the other hand...We ordered some thai teas that were generously sized and crab rangoons to start. Those were OK. The beef salad was the worst I've ever had. It was nothing more than salty beef with garnish. No tomatoes, cucumber, etc and hardly any lettuce. I also had the shrimp pad thai since people on here recommended it. It had zero spice and it was soggy mess of noodles doused in sauce and crumbled peanuts with 6 shrimp. It tasted like wet noodles with peanut butter. After that I was still hungry but decided to not order anything else. I will keep looking for decent Thai food here in Hampton Roads.
(2)Catherine W.
Love this place for Thai food! Highly recommended! Everything I have eaten here has been amazing (and I've been here at least half a dozen times). I love spicy food and you can choose the spice level from 1 to 10. They also cook the best tofu if you're a tofu lover, which I am.
(5)Jess D.
This was the worst (and I mean worst) Pad Thai takeout experience I have ever had. We waited longer than was quoted on the phone and the wait was not even worth it. The chicken pad thai was just terrible. It was super greasy and the flavor was completely off. The chicken was cut in huge hunks instead of bite sized or shredded size manageable pieces- it was also dry and flavorless. The service was average and the location was conveniently located next to our hotel but we don't listen to these other reviews- this place is awful. I have had a lot of Thai food in Chicago, Boston, and Philly and will never trust a Thai place in a VA strip mall again.
(1)Kristal G.
Truly the most elegant and delicious Thai food in the seven cities. Perfect date atmosphere.... with the exception of it being in a shopping center. The interior is beautiful, however.
(4)Rory J.
Pre-tay Pre-tay good. They get extra points for being open on Sundays. I find it rough to find good restaurants open on Sundays in the bible belt, especially for lunch. My standard measuring stick for thai food is either green curry or pad thai. In this case I decided to try their pad thai based on other reviews. I ordered the veggie pad thai with 2 stars (out of 5 on the spice level). This pad thai was very good; piping hot, good spice level and fresh ingredients. Not a lot of veggies, like I would normally like to see, but the ones that were on there were minimally cooked, so they still had a good crunch to them which contrasted nicely with the noodles and sauce. Lots of local thai places don't use fresh veg in their veggie pad thai, making the whole thing kind of mush when served. Not the case here. The service was also really good. I always had drink refills and the server was attentive but not oversolicitous. I'll definitely be back here again in the future, and next time I'll try the green curry.
(4)Kenny M.
The food there is very good and I love the fact that they use a scaling system from 1 to 5 to know how spicy you want your food. The actual presentation of the restaurant is well done. The survice there is pretty good but I would not say it was great. The only reason I say that is because we where give a new waiter and there was not someone there training her, but the second time we went in there the service was fine. I would say that this Is a great place to go with a group of friends. Overall it is a great restaurant.
(5)Marlene M.
This was my first time trying out Thai food and I am so thankful for this recommendation. Fantastic decor, reasonable prices, large food portions, very authentic. I came here for lunch with a group of coworkers who happen to be very knowledgeable with this cuisine. They swear by it that it is one of the best Thai places around. You should try it! I was hesitant at first, because it was my first time but it was so worth it. The wait staff was very accommodating and fun to talk to. Our waitress knew I was new to Thai cuisine so she went the extra mile to put any "experimental" spices on the side. Needless to say, that gesture stroke jackpot with me. The food was delicious. I had the Sweet & Sour Chicken with Jasmine Rice entree.
(5)Claudia S.
Absolutely delicious! We had the spring rolls and garden rolls. Spring rolls are better. The duck kapao was super crispy, the beef Siam was perfectly balanced, but the drunken noodles were too hot for me. I'm not discounting my score because of the heat because they were delicious and I was warned. The service was attentive but slow. That is why I dropped a star
(4)Allen U.
We used to love coming here. Nice dining experiences, however the last two times have not been too good. The wait staff has changed and our orders have been messed up the last two times. I like spicy dishes and my wife likes them mild, but they got the opposite spice levels on our dishes this most recent time. Last time, they didn't get our kid's orders correct either. Also, the happy hour drinks used to be good, but now there doesn't seem to be a drop of alcohol in them anymore. We both had drinks and they were both "alcohol free". When they get the orders correct, the food is great, and that's why this review gets two stars instead of just one. I won't be returning anytime soon.
(2)Soccer M.
Excellent meal and service! We enjoyed Garden Rolls, Drunken Noodles (beef), and Pad Thai (shrimp) and all were perfect. Definitely returning!
(5)Ira K.
The food was exquisite . As a vegetarian we were very appreciative of the flexibility, the different sauces and tastes.. The service and explanation of the dishes was first class. I would simply recommend this to any family or individual who wants quality Thai food
(5)Jennifer F.
Ordered 6 small plates and everything was delicious! Had the crab wontons $7 (perhaps the best ever), garden rolls $5 (the sauce was delicious), veggie soup with tofu $4 (tasted similar to my Grandmas cabbage soup) and the Larb Gai salad $7 (tasted similar to Ceviche. Loved the lime marinade). Service was great and fast! Prices were good too!
(5)Ashley W.
My boyfriend and I eat a few times a month here. It's our favorite restaurant around! Everyone is very friendly, the decor is beautiful and the food is AMAZING
(4)Sean B.
Hit the spot. Though where I'm staying is just outside the delivery area, they did deliver. Food was very good.

Great Thai is a rare thing in Hampton Roads - especially on the Peninsula. Tida Thai delivers and surprizes the entire area with great tasting asian food. We started off with our soup, salad and added a sushi roll for the appetizer. Of course, I think they did well at Thai, but the surprizing part is that they have ensured the sushi is equally as good. We had a spicy tuna roll and found the flavor to be just right with the right amount of spice. Going into dinner, I tried the Green Curry with chicken. Being a lover of heat, I really enjoy Thai food as both my level of heat and those with which I am out can enjoy our food at varying levels of spice - this is definitely the case at Tida Thai. I highly recommend them for lunch or dinner and know you'll enjoy it if you give it a try.
(4)Alice L.
I've been here once before and thought it was O-kay. Coming back, now I think it's good enough to comeback but no where near the "best". It may one of the top places in the area but compared to Thai I've had in NYC and Burlington, VT - It's just O-kay. - Staff is Incredibly friendly and helpful. - Modern Decor, clean - Bit on the pricey side, $11 for Pad Thai. Is that pricey? It's about the same in NYC so I expect lower. Pad Thai I had takeout so it may have been a bit different. It was a bit soggy, noodles were a bit overcooked. The taste was good but a bit dull, missing a kick, lime juice? The 7 was Spicy!!! Tom Yum Mmm! Mmm! Mmm! I would come back just for this. Yes its just soup but Mmm it was good!
(3)Mirae V.
Thai food is decent at best. The pad thai left me on a really flat note, definitely needed more seasoning. The pad see eew was delicious. The appetizer spring roll is a nice surprise. The panaang curry was also decent, but was a bit thin and watery compared to most other restaurants. The big thing here is that the service is slow, so you need to be okay with a 20-30 minute wait before your food comes out on most nights. I'm not really sure how the service is during the day
(3)Kelley G.
I'm doing this rating based off of one visit. I got the Tom Yum soup. I usually get Tom Ka because I have been obsessed with it since I had it for the first time at Penny's Noodle Shop in Chicago, however, I was making a dinner for myself and my boyfriend so I wanted something lighter. I got the vegetable version of the Tom Yum soup and it was very flavorful & had just the right amount of spice. I was sooo disappointed that I didn't have more because it was so good!

This is my favorite Thai place on the Penisula, every time I have gone I am never left hungry and I'm satisfied with service. This joint is located near Regals and shares the same strip as a Farm Fresh ( which, btw looks awfully sad inside!). Its a corner store so you can't miss it even though it doesn't look like much on the outside. Parking is ample and I never had a problem. The inside is nicely decorated, not over the top but themed well. Theres booths and tables, I go for the booths they are more spacious and I prefer not to sit in the center of a restaurant. The restrooms are probably one of my only complaints because they have that stagnant water smell to them slighty ( lots of air freshners inside so I think they are aware) but other than that they are clean and have some nice little accents to them. The service is pretty good, they get the job done fast, they are attentive and not overly chatty. However, they do check up on you and they refill your drinks too. This place spoiled me really when it comes to Thai food or at least what I think is most closely similiar to authenticity. Some of my Thai friends say this is definitely one of the better spots, so I take thier word and agree. I usually order thier jasmine tea which comes in a nice sized pot for self service instead of how most places just pour it in thier self. The tea is good not to watery or overly herby. They also have boba tea :) coconut milk being my fave. The mango rice as the dessert I had once was so good. Now, when I order green curry this is pretty much my standard-it beats Thai Thai and Thaijindesu by far! The green curry is loaded with veggies, basil and huge fried chunks of tofu and comes with a nice side of fluffy rice. I've ordered thier Tom Yum Goong ( Spicy Shrimp Soup) and its awesome, lots of shrimp and broth for the price you pay. The sour mushroom soup is light but still tasty and they coconut lemongrass soups is definitely one of my favorites with tofu added. Spring rolls are fully loaded and wrapped neatly not ing apart. They fried spring rolls are tiny but taste good with the sweet chili sauce. I definitely like the options for diners to customize thier plates. Thai food is usually pretty Vegertarian/Seagan friendly but this plaace makes sure of that. The Phat Thai ( Pad Thai) is good but I wish they peanuts were crushed instead of whole it can be overwhelming. Finally, this is my go to place for papaya salad. It's massive, filling and spicy. I've taken many friends here who eat meat and love the nonseafood options. Some of them rave about the Larb Gai with beef so I guess this is one worth mentioning. So overall, skip Thai Thai and Thaijindesu and make your way here for the better food and a less uptight environment. Make sure you take a mint on the way out too! Just because you can ;)
(4)Karen D.
The food is ok, but not outstanding. Wouldn't even classify the food as "great"... Just ok is as enthusiastic as I can go. Ive only done take out from this establishment so i cannot speak to in restaurant ambiance. The panang curry is mediocre -- the sauce is always broken and lacks creaminess and flavor. The Pad Thai is so so as is the pad see ew. For the prices thu charge, I expected better.
(3)Katrina C.
4th Location of the Tida Thai restaurant chain in the Hampton Roads area! The place looks a little more modern and upscale than the original location in VA Beach. Greeted with a friendly smile, you can be sure to be seated promptly. The place is very clean, with a very fancy bathroom! The womens sink was awesome. I know, something so minuscule is the one thing I'm raving about. But you just have to see that sink! Anyways, the place is a mix of modern style atmosphere with traditional portraits on table, kind of like the other locations. Bar area separated from the main open dinning space. Booths are available with 4 tables and chair in the middle. They can catter to large parties. This place can get rather loud when there's a lot of people. The food is as amazing as others! The pad thai was just right. The drunken noodle had too much onions and not enough noodles for my taste, but great none-the-less. As always, they serve it with a side of deep fried spring roll and a carved carrot as garnish on the entrée. Service was fast and friendly, always with smiles. The atmosphere was acceptable, although I would prefer it not to be as loud, (nothing that they could help with the large party there). Overall, another great thai place! I especially love the fact that they opened up this one right after I moved to this side of the water! Thanks Tida Thai! Oh and another note, I do believe that they deliver within the area.
(5)Elliott D.
I ordered chicken Pad Thai with a 4/5 on the spiciness. It hit the spot and was a good size portion for only $9. Tida Thai is definitely a good option if you are staying at one of the nearby hotels and want something good within walking distance of your hotel.
(4)Jeremia F.
I have very limited information to write this review as I kept it fast and easy, sort of like....well you know my order was fast and simple. I ordered a Chicken Pad Thai which had a spiciness rating of 3 on a scale of 5. I thought that the temperature selection was what I thought it would be and the overall flavor of the dish was good. I did feel that the serving size was a little bit on the small size. I feel that this might be due to the fact that I ordered this carryout and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I showed up in 15 minutes my carryout dish had been started yet as they thought that I wanted it at noon. A possible language barrier I suspect and the American dude indicated that may have been the culprit which I can forgive. But then again why wasn't he answering the phone? I'll come back when I can dine in and see what this place has really got.
(3)Leslie W.
Good stuff!
(5)Heathz O.
I can't speak for the food because I left before being seated. When you walk in there is a sign that says, "Please wait to be seated." It should say, "Please wait while three employees ignore you for 10 minutes and serve take out orders." Terrible customer service. Nobody acknowledged us at all. We left and are on our way to try another Thai restaurant.
(1)Mannie Q.
LOVEEEE THIS PLACE. Best thai food in Newport News. It was so hard finding anything to compare to DC and Tida Thai hit home!
(5)Luis G.
Located in a pretty quiet corner of the city. It's is a very quiet and zen like inside this place. The service was reasonable and the food was adequate. Price was on par with the cuisine. The Thai read needs some work it was just too watery. This would be the second best place that serves Thai food in Newport News.
(4)Angie M.
A family staple. Nearby, fresh, and good. Mil discount Mon-Fri. Nice place, too.
(4)Nancy A.
Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant! Every time I visit home, I have to go here. The pad see ew and the garlic sauce dishes are amazing! They do a great job with spice levels, and I have always had friendly service. Oh, the steamed dumplings are great too!
(5)Mike M.
My mistake for not checking the price of the Duck Curry at $21! But it was incredible. Did I say incredible? incredible incredible incredible. My wife is nursing a newborn so spicy is out of the question and at 1/5 spicy rating on the panang curry it was seriously disappointing. Tom Ka was also incredible. Restaurant interior was also very nice with a decent beer selection
(4)Lori L.
Very good Thai food. The flavor of the tofo red curry was wonderful. The only fault - if you consider it one - is there were not a lot of vegies. It was the same for my friend's chicken red curry. Great flavor! And if you are just wanting the chicken or tofo then you will love it because they do not skimp on either of them at all. But most curries have a substantial amount of vegies in them and these were lacking. Other than that the dinners were great. The service was excellent. And we all four LOVED the spring rolls. Possibly the best I've had.
(4)Darcey B.
This place is great! We recently moved here from a tiny town with hardly any good restaurants and we love Thai food, so we've already tried several around here and this is my favorite so far. I ordered the Lad Na and it hit the spot after a long day of house hunting. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, the service was good, and the prices were reasonable. I look forward to going back soon and trying something else on the menu.
(4)Kristina M.
Quite possibly the BEST Thai in town! Our experience on Friday evening was refreshing - we were greeted promptly by very friendly staff. The waitress was helpful in explaining some of the dishes; our order was taken quickly and the drinks and appetizers were promptly brought to the table! We ordered the Spring rolls and Chicken Satay as appetizers - the rolls were not greasy or over done; they were crispy and fresh! The Satay was a little bland but the peanut sauce was amazing! Main courses - Panang Curry (Beef) and Drunken Noodle - The curry was spicy (despite being a 1 on the scale) but was fresh, flavorful and my new favorite! The Drunken Noodle was just as good - but can pack a punch with the spice level!!! All in all this restaurant is our new favorite Thai place - clean, comfortable, well-lit, very friendly staff and prompt service! And of course the food was amazing!!
(5)Ash M.
Soooooo, disappointing. We had awful service and had to wait forever for our food to come out. I ordered a bowl of soup, which I politely sent back because it arrived cold. And I was given another cold bowl of soup. I sent that one back. And I was given another cold bowl of soup. What were they doing back in the kitchen? I would have been ok with them even popping it in a microwave. Sheesh. When our entrees fffiiiinnnaaallllyyyy arrived, they were not piping hot either. At this point, we had waited so long that we really didn't care, though. The food was OK, but it definitely wasn't anywhere near the best Thai food I've ever had. More than that, we never saw our waitress again and had to hunt someone down to ask her to bring us the check. Judging by the other reviews which seem to be pretty positive, I wonder if we just came on a bad night. However, we haven't been back and I wouldn't go out of my way to give it another try.
(1)Paul F.
Disappointed. The chicken dish was plain chicken with a bland sauce and little else but it took so long we ate it anyway. The pad Thai was like I get more in a frozen meal than fresh. I don't understand the high rating.
(1)JP C.
Duck was so crispy and delicious. Yum won sen was exceptional. And the black rice with coconut milk was something to come back for more.
(5)Tambu D.
I went to this restaurant on Sunday after church and got seated immediately. There were only 5-6 other people that were seated in this restaurant and so the service that we were provided was quick and that was helpful because we had to catch a flight after the meal.I ordered the spicy thai shrimp fried rice and this is the BEST thai fried rice dish that I have ever had. With each entree that you order you get a choice between a salad or spring roll.I wish I chose the spring roll because the ginger dressing on the salad I really did not care for and the only other option was a peanut salad dressing which I am not a big fan of peanuts. If you pay with cash(vs credit card), you get a discount which is nice.

I ordered take out from this particular location and it was delicious. Decided to try dining in with some girlfriends....bad idea!! We walked in to one of the hostesses or waitresses mopping the floor, and instead of a friendly greeting we were told to watch our step. We were seated with a stack of menus, and although we were the only ones in the restaurant, we had to wait five minutes for someone to come with water!! She neglected to provide us with the evening specials or ask if we wanted appetizers, then left for another few minutes!!! Disappointed and will not be returning!

I was a little worried when I walked and no one was there. That being said, the food was the best Thai that I have had. I ordered the Cashew chicken spiced ****. Spicy (like I like it) but I will be back again.

Just moved here from California and have been craving Thai food. I'm going to be honest and say that my expectations weren't very high as I have yet to find a Chinese food restaurant that I like. Found some great reviews for this place so decided to try this place for a date night with my husband. Walked in to a nice modern looking place. Was pleased with our surroundings as Thai places just have a nice zen feeling which makes me feel at ease immediately. We ordered the summer rolls for an appetizer which my husband wasn't pleased with and I thought they where okay, the peanut sauce that came with them was good though. For dinner my husband ordered the chicken Red Curry which was filled with so many delicious flavors, he LOVED it! I ordered the pad see ew with beef which was also very delicious! There was a sexiness to how amazing these dishes tasted along with the pretty flower placed on our dish for a nice presentation. We ordered a few mixed drinks my husband ordered the blue margarita and I ordered the fah Sai sunshine which was so yummy! And again the presentation of a beautiful fresh flower along with a handmade flower on our straws was Awesome! You can really feel the thoughtfulness put into everything here! We left very pleased with our overall experience here! This place definitely exceeded my expectations and more! We can't wait to go back!

Classy look, interesting choice for ambient music, superior food! Really, I haven't been this happy with a restaurant in this area for quite awhile. I always dismissed Tida Thai, I wish I hadn't.

Liked it. Only 3 stars because me and my boyfriends stomachs were both upset and so was my wallet. we will go back though if in area. So it is worth a try or two for something nice and different. And the service was EXCELLENT!!!!

I had the chicken with vegetable fried rice. It was amazing. Any time I want thai food I drive to this location. Service is warm and quick and the food is great.

We had great service and reasonably priced. Everything was prepared fresh and delicious we ordered 2 appetizers which were outstanding, the satay and the garden rolls. For main we had beef Siam and chicken with garlic sauce. We will definitely return again

Food was awesome. I tried the Shrim Pad See Eaw and it was delicious. I haven't had great Thai food in a while.

Good location, just off Victory Blvd and easy to find. The food is really good, if just a bit on the salty side. I had the papaya salad, which was crunchy and fresh. I also had the spicy mango fried tofu with jasmine rice....yum. Usually I get a noodle dish or curry from Thai restaurants, so I decided to risk getting something new, and I'm glad I did! Thai iced tea was sweet and creamy....delicious! The service was prompt and friendly. The lunch prices are unbeatable. My mom says she ordered a 3 out of 5 for spiciness for her pad thai the last time and it was so hot she could barely eat it...this coming from an Asian woman who loves her spicy food. We stuck with twos and probably could have handled a three this time. Maybe it's just chef-dependent?

By far the best thai in the area! I'm pretty picky when it comes to Thai food... and they take the cake! Just know that when you ask for hotter than thai hot, you're getting it! The atmosphere is really nice and clean. They have some great drink specials throughout the week. Check it out!

Delicious food for the price! The crab wontons and larb gai are my favorite! Great tea and friendly waitstaff as well.

Best Thai in the area. Great prices and excellent portions. I love the larb gai salad myself. One thing is that is depends sometimes who is cooking the food. Most of the time it is great but once or twice i have had some off meals there; however, i keep coming back because it is soo good when its right!

Pros: N/A Cons: Restaurant staff not very experienced in serving large groups. Waitress has problems remembering orders and keeping the language appropriate. The kitchen staff takes too long to prepare orders. The spices are too mild to be called Thai spicy.

This place is a little bit off the main drag but it is totally worth it! The food here was absolutely awesome and the value was unbeatable. For Less than $10, I got an amazing dish, Ka Phao, which I ordered with chicken but you could also order it with beef or pork. It is basically your choice of protein sauteed with fresh chili, garlic sauce, bell pepper, and fresh basil leaves. And you can get either a salad or a fried roll to go with it. I also had the Thai dumplings with soy sauce, a perfect appetizer that they served pretty fast. Besides that, the service was great and the place is very contemporary. I am glad that the two other places I went to for lunch were both closed because this place was spot-on. I will definitely be going back!

Decided to try another Thai restaurant in the area and I was pleasantly surprised! We went for lunch and I was surprised at the lack of people dining. We waited a while before someone came to get our drink orders. The spring rolls were very good and the dipping sauce was excellent! The Pad Thai was delicious as was the Ka Phao which had a great sauce. Large portions so I was happy to pay a little more. We had a meal to take home! The restaurant overall was very clean and modern looking. I would recommend this place for a romantic date night or if you're looking for something a little fancy.

Good food. Nice atmosphere except that there was a lady (probably owner) with a child being very loud from the bar. Understand that's how you play with a child but not at the bar or this restaurant. Considering no body tried to stop them, I assume she was the owner. Had great soup on a rainy night but got so annoyed by the noise. Will go again though.

Went on a Friday night. Was pretty crowded and they were short a waitress so service was only fair. Appetizers showed up before our cocktails. The Satay and Spring rolls were very good. Had the Pad Prik King, 3 star. Would say it was only american hot. Very Tasty and the string beans were crisp. Definately good Thai!

A girlfriend of mine didn't recommend this place at all and was very against going to Tida Thai in Newport News...but my husband and I decided to go anyways. I'm glad we did. From outside the place seems mediocre, but the inside ambiance was really nice. I always give extra kudos for places that has real candles and real flowers as a part of the decor. When you first walk in, you enter a small foyer which is pretty claustrophobic before you actually enter the restaurant. We had a new waitress waiting on us...she was a little clumsy, but I didn't really mind it. The place is pricey for Thai food. There are booths alongside the walls of the restaurant which gives a decent amount of privacy because the seats are high. My husband and I got the satay chicken (which comes with four skewers), the pad Thai with chicken (which is what I usually try first at Thai restaurants), and the pad saew with pork, and Thai fried rice or something with chicken. I've had my share of Thai food and have certain expectations...sooo, with that being said, I thought the satay chicken peanut sauce could be better. It ran a little bit on the watery or runny side. They definitely had a little too much coconut milk extract or something in there which made my throat hurt a little it. (I like to drownnn my chicken in the sauce because I LOVE peanut sauces.) The pad Thai was pretty good in my opinion. I was very satisfied with it. I really wished I had the shrimp pad Thai, but that would've jumped the price to like $15.00 or something ridiculous for pad Thai. The pad saew was alright. And the Thai fried rice was a small portion which I thought I could probably finish by myself. With all the dishes, the meat portions were pretty generous...it was like HUGE slices of meat. I personally don't like the huge slices...but what can I do? They also put a little orchid flower on our plates which I thought was cute and they have carrots garnished as a part of the presentation. As I said earlier, our waitress was a little clumsy and unknowledgeable of the dishes, but she was honest and I didn't really mind. There was also a miscommunication with me and another waiter I spoke to when I wanted to order sweet sticky rice WITHOUT the mango to go too. I ended up getting the mango and getting charged for an extra side of sticky rice. All in all, my husband and I spent $60.00 for our meal that night.

Staying in the vicinity and thankfully found this place via Yelp. Very clean, modern, pleasant atmosphere. Food was pleasantly really good and service was lovely. Considering they are tucked away down in a corner mall, they were pretty busy. As a vegetarian, one of the things I really appreciated about the menu was that just about EVERY menu item was customizable. Your choice of chicken, beef, tofu, veg....for everything. Not typical in most restaurants, though you can REQUEST it in most places, it was nice to see it was completely customizable. I had the Crazy Noodles w/ tofu, they went easy on me, I would have preferred it hotter, but the (very sweet) waitress DID ask, I suspect that when someone like me says I can take hot, they don't really believe me ;) My dining partner had the crab fried rice which was very tasty...fresh lump crabmeat in a pile on top. If we return, we will certainly return to Tida Thai.

We came for dinner several nights ago and both got chicken pad Thai, and liked it very much (large pieces of chicken, though). We also got the tofu soup first, and it was really flavorful and delicious. The $4 portion was plenty for two. Our waitress was kind and the environment was modern and clean. We got the sticky rice with mango for dessert, as suggested by our waitress, and it was soooo good. Flavorful, different, and the texture was great. Going back tonight!

The latest restaurant from Tida Thai ( See website for the others). Located in Kiln Creek off I-64 at the Victory Blvd exit, Tida Thai may be hard to find--it is down at the end of the same building that Farm Fresh is in. Solid Thai food in an attractive setting. The food is good; I particularly like their "half crispy roasted duck". It was awesome. Mild means mild and spicey means spicey but nothing that is going to make you wish you could die, so dig in. I have eaten alot of asian & oriental food over the years and the food here is definitely in the top 25 %. Service can be a bit leisurely but overall nothing I couldn't handle. Right now this is my Thai restaurant of choice locally.
